Plagiarism Detection and Originality Reporting

Plagiarism detection policies and rejection of research protocols

The Research Ethics Committees and the Research Committee of the Fundación Enfermera Delia Ruiz Rivas take the problem of plagiarism in research work very seriously and, therefore, have established clear policies for the detection and rejection of research protocols that contain plagiarism.

Plagiarism detection: All submitted research protocols will be reviewed with the Turnitin tool to detect any indication of plagiarism. Plagiarism is considered when the level of similarity detected by Turnitin is equal to or higher than 25%.

Notification of plagiarism: In the event that plagiarism is detected in a research protocol, the author will be notified immediately and will be provided with a detailed report of the similarity analysis detected by Turnitin. The author will be given the opportunity to explain any reasonable similarities in the paper and submit a corrected version of the protocol.

Rejection of research protocols: If the level of similarity detected by Turnitin is equal to or greater than 25%, and after thorough review and discussion, it is confirmed that there is plagiarism in the research protocol, the protocol will be rejected. The author will not be allowed to submit the same research protocol again.

Consequences: Appropriate disciplinary action will be taken against authors who have submitted research protocols containing plagiarism.

These policies are necessary to maintain the academic integrity and quality of the research papers evaluated by the Fundación Enfermera Delia Ruiz Rivas.
